Talia Brown is a printmaker and textile artist based in Vancouver, BC, on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Her work uses art as activist documentation, responding to negative humain impacts on the natural world in an attempt to engage and inspire action through emotional connection.
Growing up immersed in the mountains of British Columbia, where she enjoyed skiing, hiking, and paddling, her work is shaped by her close relationships with mountains, forests, snow, and water. She approaches her art as an archive of the natural world, capturing moments of disappearance and transformation while exploring memory, absence, and resilience.
Through material-driven processes, she creates visually striking and digestible works designed to evoke emotions and inspire change, responsibility, and action. Her practice transforms ecological loss into forms that feel urgent and personal.
